The obverse of the coin

depicts the monument to soldiers-liberators, located in Chisinau. On a circle the inscription: top - "ЯССКО-КИШИНЕВСКАЯ ОПЕРАЦИЯ" below - "ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 гг."(labels separated by five-pointed stars).
The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping.

Jassy-Kishinev operation took place in a short period of time from 20 to 29 August 1944. First, the South-Western front line ran along the Dniester river, but during the battle managed to slip deep into Romania, freeing Chisinau and other cities of Moldova. The battle involved over 2 million people, including 1.3 million Soviet soldiers against 900-strong army, consisting of German, Romanian and local rebel armies. The operation was one of the most successful for the Soviet Union, the result was the exit of Romania from war and the creation of favorable conditions for the further liberation of the Balkan Peninsula.
