The obverse of the coin

shows the upper part of the monument to Soviet soldiers-liberators (the soldier with the flag and emblem of the USSR), located in Vienna. On a circle the inscription: top - "ВЕНСКАЯ ОПЕРАЦИЯ" at the bottom in a smaller font - "ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 гг."(labels separated by five-pointed stars).
The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping.

The Vienna offensive was held from 16 March to 15 April 1945, in parallel with the battles in East Prussia. Western Hungary, remaining under the command of the Wehrmacht was on the side of Nazi Germany, they were opposed by the Soviet army and Bulgaria. The attack was from Czechoslovakia and previously freed Eastern Hungary and from Yugoslavia. During heavy fighting was completely liberated Austria (battle for the capital lasted 8 days), Western Hungary, the enemy lost an important economic district. Together with the victory on the Baltic sea, this operation created the conditions for the subsequent capture of Berlin.
