An extremely rare year for this denomination, the coin is a rarity. The image is created based on coins with other dates and may differ from the original in some details.
The obverse of the coin depicts in the middle the emblem of the Bank of Russia - double-headed eagle with drooping wings, above the emblem in a semicircle along the edge runs the inscription - "БАНК РОССИИ" and at the bottom in the same font, but horizontally, nominal value - "ДВА РУБЛЯ" Under the right paw of the eagle there is a small oval mark mint, which minted the coin (MMD -
Moscow). In the lower part of the coin field specifies the year of minting - "2001", separated from the upper part of the figure by two horizontal lines, tapering to the edge, separated by a dot.
The reverse of the coin in large figure "2" specified denomination, the figure is slightly offset from the Central axis to the left. Under the denomination of a word "РУБЛЯ" centered in relation to the nominal value. In the left, bottom and right parts of the field of the coin is the ornament of branches of plants.
The coin is gray with greenish tint made of highly resistant copper-Nickel alloy. Ferromagnetic properties has not. On the front and back sides on the circumference there is a raised rim. GURT coin consists of 24 sites issued in two variants - 7 reefs and without notches.
