Description of coin Tip 1708:

Silver tip produced in 1707-1709 years and was equal to 18 Polish pittance. Coins of 1708 met letters "IL L" and without them.

The picture shows a specimen from the Museum of the Goznak "History of money" Saint-Petersburg mint.

In 1704 the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (the state, uniting Poland and Lithuania) signed a contract with Narva Russia to unite against the common enemy - Sweden. It is possible to avoid further ruin of the cities, but greatly weakened the country. The presence on the territory of Poland by the Russian forces has necessitated the coinage for the territory of the special coins tip and Shestack (1/3 of Tinta or 6 pennies) with a portrait of Peter I and Russian inscriptions. The use of the Russian money of the new sample for this area was uncomfortable because of the different local weights of coins, and trust to the silver flakes was very low. Coinage of the Commonwealth was called "Tipovoi business." Russian tipi were minted with the same silver content as tipi Polish release. Was equal to three richness, although by weight they were really only two times that has lead to numerous imitations. In Russia, tipi and richness almost never found in circulation, was sometimes equal to 24 and 12 cents, respectively.
