Description of coin Ruble 1761 (SPB TI A):

Coin sample of 1757, with a portrait of T. Ivanova. Produced from 1757 to 1761. In a circle the front and back of a rim with notches (on some coins may be partially or completely absent, this is not a marriage).

On the obverse is placed a shoulder-length portrait of Elizabeth I, in profile, face to the right. Under the portrait letters "СПБ"(Saint-Petersburg). In a circle the inscription - "Б•М•ЕЛИСАВЕТЪ•I•IМП•IСАМОД•ВСЕРОС"(stands for "the grace of God Elizabeth I Empress and autocrat of all Russias"). The initials of the engraver letters "T I"(Timothy Smith).

The reverse depicts the coat of arms of the Russian Empire in the mid XVIII century: the double-headed eagle with the lifted wings, crowned by two Imperial crowns, above the same crown but larger. Right Talon the eagle holds a scepter, the left power. On the eagle's breast shield with the Moscow coat of arms: St. George on horseback slaying a serpentine dragon with wings. The shield surrounded by chain of Order of St. Andrew. Under the clutches of an eagle, the letters "I I" (the initials of mintmaster mint). At the top of the semicircle indicated the year of coinage, divided into two parts - "61 17". At the bottom a semicircle of nominal - "МОНЕТА•  РУБЛЬ•"(letters converted basis inside).
