In 1756, a design was developed of gold coins of low denominations (1, 2 of the rouble and poltina) for a limited purpose ("for the Palace use"). There are several types of test coins that are not included in standard coinage.
On the obverse is a portrait of Elizabeth I, in profile, face to the right. In a circle the inscription - "Б•М•ЕЛИСАВЕТЪ•I•IМП•ИСАМОД:ВСЕРОС•"(stands for "the grace of God Elizabeth I Empress and autocrat of all Russias").
On the reverse is placed the monogram of Elizabeth I. In a circle the inscription (starting at the top) - " • МОН • ЦЕНА • РУБЛЬ • 1756"(letters converted basis inside).
