Coin of this type was produced in 1763-1767, 1788-1791, as well as in the years 1793-1796. In the reign of Paul I at the Yekaterinburg and Red (Moscow) mints were pereselenka 2-penny coin sample 1796 in penny old type, we used stamps with the date "1793" (EAT) and "1795" (MM). On these coins it is possible to see traces of the old images.
The obverse of the coin shows the monogram of Catherine II of the letters of the "I"(Empress), "Е"(Catherine) and Roman numerals "II" Upstairs the Imperial crown. The sides of the year, is divided into two parts - "17" and "96". Image is surrounded by two branches connected at the bottom with a bow.
The reverse of the coin depicts George on horseback spearing a snake-like dragon with wings. A horse letters "Е"and "М"(Yekaterinburg coin). Below in a semicircle is a tape with a nominal value of "КОПЕЙКА"
