Description of coin 5 kopecks 1768 (EAT):

Coin of this type with the monogram of Catherine II was produced at the Ekaterinburg mint in 1763-1796. In 1797, by decree of Paul I was pereselenka 10-kopeichikov sample of 1796 in the coppers the same stamps with dates "1791", "1793", "1794" and "1795".

The obverse of the coin shows the monogram of Catherine II of the letters of the "I"(Empress), "Е"(Catherine) and Roman numerals "II" Upstairs the Imperial crown. The sides of the year, is divided into two parts - "17" and "68". Image is surrounded by two branches connected at the bottom with a bow.

The reverse of the coin depicts the coat of arms of the Russian Empire in the second half of the XVIII century. The coat of arms double-headed eagle with raised wings, crowned by two Imperial crowns, above is the same crown but larger. Right Talon the eagle holds a scepter, the left - power. On the chest is placed a shield with the Moscow coat of arms: St. George on horseback slaying a serpentine dragon with wings. Moscow coat of arms surrounded by chain of the order of Saint Apostle Andrey Pervozvannogo. Under the clutches of an eagle letters "Е М"(Yekaterinburg coin). At the bottom along the edge is a ribbon with the inscription - "ПЯТЬ • КОПЕЕКЪ"
