The coin is minted from copper at the mint of St. Petersburg, was produced from 1867 to 1881. The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping. GURT coin is composed of a plurality of vertical notches.
The obverse of the coin shows the monogram of Alexander II (the large stylized letter "А" at the bottom of Roman numeral "II" above the letter "А"great Imperial crown). The crown is supplemented by a tape of Andrew's order. Below two crossed branches of oak (right) and Laurel (left).
On the coin reverse at the top of the fraction, nominal value: number "1" underneath a horizontal line, and the figure "2" (i.e. 1/2). Left and right are two stars. Under the nominal - the word "КОПЕЙКИ" even lower pattern in the form of floral ornament with a circle in the center, underneath the date of issue "1878". At the bottom of the letters "С.П.Б."(Saint-Petersburg).
